Meet Charlene
Licensed Acupuncture Physician
Charlene is a Florida-licensed and nationally board certified Diplomat of Acupuncture with the NCCAOM. She has provided care in the field of Pain Management since 2008.
Working alongside the Chiropractors at Orlando Sports Chiropractic for 14 years, Charlene developed an integrative and collaborative approach to treating pain conditions and injuries. Her experience extends to neurological conditions and internal complaints such as digestive disorders and stress.

In 2012, Charlene returned to her Alma Mater, the Florida College of Integrative Medicine, where she taught as an adjunctive professor for 10 years.

Charlene's interest in Chinese Medicine began during her years studying internal cultivation within martial arts (Ba Gua Zhang), where she learned the Taoist principles of health and wellness. Realizing that she wanted to be involved in natural approaches to healing, she pursued a career in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Motorpoint & Trigger Point Acupuncture
The style of Acupuncture Charlene uses is similar to the dry needling method, which uses manual stimulation of the Acupuncture needle to obtain a muscle twitch response. Trained under Dr Anthony Lombardi and using the Exstore system, Charlene inserts needles into trigger and motorpoint sites, and instead of manually stimulating the needle, she applies a low level of electrical stimulation to obtain a twitch response which restores muscle function. Electrical stimulation is often more comfortable for the patient.
What's all the Buzz about Cupping?
Cupping is a Chinese medical therapy used for a variety of conditions, most popularly muscle pain. It creates suction force on the skin to free stagnant blood that accumulates in injured tissues. This technique siphons fresh oxygen-rich blood into muscles to resolve pain and heal injuries. Cupping gives the conspicuous purple circles on a patient’s skin that people often see on professional swimmers and other athletes. Many people find cupping to be an enjoyable manual therapy similar to receiving a massage.
Dry Needling Prolotherapy
Dry Needling Prolotherapy combines trigger point needling techniques with injected dextrose-B12 solution (D5W) to relieve muscle tension and pain. Injured tissues and nerves are starved of blood supply, which depletes oxygen and glucose. This leaves tissues in crisis, and patients experience it as muscle and joint pain. Dry Needling Prolotherapy restores healthy function of muscle and nourishes the tissue and nerves to resolve pain. D5W is very safe, and is used in hospital IV solutions around the world.
